Panel Discussions is my new site to help people find comics that I think are excellent, as well as voice my opinions about the medium. I’m trying very hard to cover a wide variety of material. A lot of comic sites focus on recent releases by Marvel and DC, but I try hard to be different and take time out to review comics from decades ago, or indie books you may not have heard of. Also, feel free to use the posts as a forum to voice your own opinions–I didn’t name my site Paneldiscussions.wordpress.com just to make a joke (although that was part of it). Essentially, I’ll approve any comment so long as it’s not overly offensive or full of swearing (I’m trying to keep this site PG).
I’m in the process of creating my own comic books. My idea is to eventually try self-publishing comics in digital form through Amazon, but I’m not sure when I’ll finish up with that project. Anyways, I’ll try to upload a bunch of free previews onto this site, so consider subscribing to or bookmarking paneldiscussions.wordpress.com.
Speaking of books, I have self-published a novel on Amazon called The Madness of Art: Short Stories. It’s not a comic book, but I think my love of comics did help inspire many of the stories included. If you’re curious about it, it’s available for $6.99 on Amazon and the Barnes and Noble site. If $6.99 sounds too steep, I’m currently trying to do a promotion called “$3 for 3”–basically, if I can get 25 people to like my page for The Madness of Art: Short Stories on Facebook, I’ll lower the price of my book to $3 for 3 days.
I’m also running a second blog, coreysbook.wordpress.com. Coreysbook is the site I use to write movie reviews, book reviews, and basically write up my opinions on anything and everything that relates to arts and entertainment.
