I just set up a Twitter account yesterday and spent a few minutes going through and seeing how many comic-related artists I could find and follow. I was surprised to see how many have Twitter accounts now. If you have Twitter and like comics, consider following the following:
Neil Gaiman (@neilhimself) writer of Sandman, Death: The High Cost of Living, and novels like American Gods and Neverwhere.
Stan Lee (@TheRealStanLee), comic book legend, and one of my favorite people on Earth.
Paul Cornell (@paul_cornell), witty writer of superhero comics.
Bill Willingham (@billwillingham), mastermind behind my favorite comic on the shelves right now, Fables.
Kurt Busiek (@kurtbusiek), writer of the great series Astro City.
Geoff Johns (@geoffjohns), prolific writer for DC, currently writes JLA and Aquaman.
Stuart Immonen (@stuartimmonen), great artist whose down some stellar work with The New Avengers.
Brian Michael Bendis (@brianmbendis), one of the biggest names at Marvel right now, and also was the writer for Powers.
Those are all of the people I’ve found so far. Pretty impressive bunch. There’s a few people who apparently aren’t on Twitter, but I wish they were, such as Mike Mignola and Jeff Smith. Some of the celebrities you might want to consider following would be Conan O’Brien (@conanobrien), David Lynch (@david_lynch) and Bill Cosby (@billcosby). If you want, you can follow me on Twitter, but I mostly use mine for bad puns (what else can you do with 140 characters?) and retweeting others.
